We treat indexed universal life as a design problem—not a headline rate or a side product. Our process starts with the client’s objective, then compares policy mechanics, guarantees, non-guaranteed assumptions, funding requirements, and carrier fit before a recommendation is made.
A 401(k) is a qualified retirement plan with contribution rules, possible employer matching, market exposure, and generally taxable withdrawals. An IUL is a life insurance contract funded with after-tax dollars; properly managed non-MEC policies may be accessed through withdrawals and loans under current law, but charges, loan interest, caps, participation rates, and lapse risk apply. They solve different problems and can sometimes work together.
A review can compare your current coverage, premium, guarantees, non-guaranteed assumptions, charges, surrender values, riders, and funding requirements with your present objective. Sometimes the existing policy remains the best fit; when it does not, we explain the tradeoffs and replacement risks before discussing alternatives.
Cash-value strategies use permanent life insurance for protection plus potential lifetime liquidity. Depending on the contract, policyholders may access value through withdrawals or loans; doing so can reduce cash value and death benefit, create interest costs, and increase lapse or tax risk, so the policy must be designed and monitored carefully.
A common rule of thumb is 10–12× your income, but that misses the point. Real number = income replacement years + outstanding debts + future obligations (college, mortgage payoff) + final expenses, minus liquid assets and existing coverage. We walk through it with you on the assessment call — most clients find they were either dramatically underinsured or paying for the wrong type of coverage.
CentraLife is licensed in 49 states — every state except New York — and our advisor network covers all of them. Wherever you live outside New York, we can place coverage.
You pay nothing for our planning, design, or assessment work. Insurance carriers compensate us when a policy is placed — the same commission they would pay any agent. There is no fee for talking to us, and there is no obligation to buy.
For term and final expense, many clients are approved same day. For fully underwritten IUL or whole life, the process typically takes 3–6 weeks depending on whether labs are required. We hold your hand through every step.
